The Fairfax/ Madison Place Joint Fire and Rescue District is formed to provide 24 hour/7 day a week coverage for the Village of Fairfax and the Eastern District of Columbia Township. Prior to the formation of the joint district the Village of Fairfax was covered by the Fairfax Fire Department staffed with all volunteer firefighters and emergency medical technicians (EMT).
